All of the feedback in which I receieved was all very positive and others really liked it.
In this project, we were to plan, create and produce a music video. Using our skills with the camera and showing that we are able to do teamwork. Our music video compared to other music videos can sometimes be related. For example; in many videos there is a studio scene or their narrative is similar in the fact that there is a break-up and then a happy ending. I felt that creating a music video went very well. My group all were committed to it and we were able to successful pull it together and create something successful. We had the odd problems of costume change and rejected footage, but it's what has helped to show us what to improve the next time we were to create something similar to a music video. I felt as though the time spent on this really payed off and I believe that the costumes worn did fit in with the style of genre in which I was trying to convey. I felt as though I was comfortable when filming this video. I didn't feel at all nervous or uncomfortable, which was good because the outcome was great and I reckon if I had nerves or uncomfortableness then I reckon it may have ruined it. No matter how well we did in the other areas.
I felt as though my promotional pack went well. I had taken in the feedback well and used it to make my final piece better. The feedback had helped because I was able to change the piece and make it look better than it was. Other than changing the spine, I reckon that my digipack and advert went well and I managed to be able to produce a really good digipack and advert. Though, there were areas in which I could have improved on. As a few said on the feedback, the 'Paramore' does not fit onto the paper on the front page. This was not intended to be on the piece of white paper but after receiving feedback about it, I now see how off-putting it could be so I believe that I could change that. Whether it's fitting it in or putting it into a different place. I also would improve the inside of the digipack cover, as I believe that this could be better. Maybe use the same font as the front of make it a similar colour. Although it can be good to have different styles. Overall in the digipack and advert project, I felt like I have really pulled it off and ended with a great outcome. I feel happy with the outcome.
I didn't receive any negative feedback about this video in which I could use to help me improve because the feedback I received was all positive. Though, I do believe I have some areas in which to improve to make this a better music video.
I reckon that in some scenes we could have re-done some of the lip singing scenes. In some areas of this video, the lip singing does not fully fit. There is also the Lewes High Street scene in which we use the time lapse. In this particular shot, I crack a smile every small second or two in the time lapse. This clearly changing my mood - which isn't conveying the real emotion of her being sad. Also, there is the shot of the reel. I believed that we could have shortened that down a little in duration because it's quite a lot of time looking at just a reel. It may bore the audience a little by seeing the same thing for a while.
I felt as though myself and my group worked together well and we all managed to use that team work to produce this music video. Each of us were committed and we all helped for it to become successful.
Not only was I in the music video itself portraying the lead female but I also had got behind the camera and took shots and directed them. Making sure that the shots were successful. I used a clapper board in order to take note of the shot on the camera and then action was the word for go. I tried different shots and ensured that I had placed the camera in a right place in order to capture this footage successfully. Editing on the other hand. I was the main group member out of our group who focused on the stop motion stop. We set up a camera in the classroom on a tripod and filmed it in a special way. This ending up really effective. I reckon I got charge of the stop motion stop because it was my idea to do it and I drew the drawings to use in it.
The equipment in which we had was the camera, the tripod and the macs from the Media block. Firstly, the camera and the tripod were for filming this music video. Whereas, the macs were for editing. This year was the first time I had used a mac and I really got used to using the software in which it held. It was great for the editing. It really made it look good.
Outside of the Media classroom, we were able to use equipment that belonged in the music studio. This studio was in the performing arts building and luckily, we were able to use it because two of our group members were music students. The equipment used in the studio were to make it seem more realistic. I felt as though the recording studio went really well.
The editing went well I believe. We used different techniques in order to enhance the quality of the film and make it better. This included fade in's and fade out's. Time lapse, Overlapping, Stop motion stop and just small techniques like panning etc in order to make our music video better and allow it to fit in well with the rest of the video. I reckon we did good. Although, I feel as though we could have used a little bit more of the techniques.
There were times in which we messed up, had a laugh and managed to act something different than what we were intended to but I believe that this project has gone really well and I believe the outcome is pretty good. At the end of the day, it's the outtakes in which pick you up and make it better by making sure that the next shot you take is better and not like the previous one in which you have done.
I can say I've enjoyed this project and I feel as though we have fulfilled the outcome in which I had hoped for. I thought that it was good and I really liked the whole of the video. Filming it, directing, producing it, editing it and even starring in it. I found this all great fun and help to increase my ability and skills in Media.
